What is an island booth, and why would I want one?
An island booth is a type of trade show booth that is open to the aisles on all four sides. A typical island booth size starts at 20ft by 20ft and can increase significantly in size. Island booths are typically square or rectangular in shape.
As a standalone booth, your exhibit can invite attendees into your space from all four sides. Island spaces provide maximum visibility to attendees. Aside from a higher price tag compared to other booth types, an island space has very few downsides.
Below is an example of an island booth we designed for a client. All four sides are completely open and available for attendees to enter from.
Are there any display regulations for an island booth?
Island spaces typically follow the Cubic Content rule, stating that the entire cubic content of the space may use up to the maximum allowable height. This height is usually 16-20 feet but can vary show to show.
- Island booths permit hanging signs and graphics supposing they follow the maximum height regulations the show provides. You can place hanging signage typically anywhere within the booth since there is not a neighboring exhibitor within ten feet on any side.
