At a trade show or convention, your company’s exhibit has just three seconds (or less!) to communicate who you are, what you do, and what sets you apart. That’s why it’s so important to ensure your exhibit will communicate as much of your message as possible, as quickly and effectively as possible. Equally important is being sure your exhibit functions in a way that will support your sales team and make a positive impression on prospective customers.
OnePoint’s custom modular exhibits are designed to meet the unique, specific needs of each client. It all starts with a design discovery meeting, where we work with you to uncover your branding and functional needs.
Send the Right Message
To determine the look and feel of your exhibit, we’ll work together to answer the following questions:
- Who you are, what you do, and what sets you apart?
- What kind of experience do you want guests to have?
- Should the space be open and inviting, or more closed off and private?
- Who are you trying to attract—anyone and everyone at the show? Or only a select/smaller group of people?
- What are some ways to attract and qualify your ideal customer?
- What images inspire you (other exhibits you like, pictures of your facility, etc.)
- What kinds of design elements do you like (backlighting, edge-lighting, 3D logos, movement, a mix of materials, etc.)?
- What kind of overall look are you seeking (modern, clean, bright, industrial, playful, serious, sophisticated, classic, hard lines/soft lines, European, curvy, etc.)?
Form Follows Function
As important as messaging and aesthetics are, it’s critical that your booth meets the functional needs of your sales team while making it easy for prospects to interact with you.
Think about which of the following features your exhibit should contain:
- Walls for graphic messaging
- Reception table (for storage, greeting, badge scanning)
- Storage (for giveaways and staff belongings—is a storage room/closet required?)
- Meeting space (open, semi-private, or private?)
- Product/service demo space
- High signage (towers, hanging signs) for visibility from a distance
- Technology (monitors, tablets, LED walls, etc.)
- Hospitality space (for food, coffee, water, etc.)
- Flooring
You’ll also want to consider how you want traffic to flow:
- Should guests enter from all sides and move freely through the space? Or, should the space have a defined
- front and back and limit/control how traffic flows through it?
- Do you want to qualify candidates through quick interactions near the aisles, or should your design pull
- people in and encourage them to spend time in your space?
- Do you want a greeter who can direct traffic and scan badges? If yes, where should they be positioned in
- the space?
- Etc…
